Many taxpayers trying to use the IRS stimulus payment website have been frustrated. The website was quickly released after April 15th, and has not always worked as intended. Some received error messages attempting to use the website, or received a message incorrectly stating that their return information did not match the return on file.

According to a news briefing from Sunday, April 26th, IRS has made several improvements to the “Get My Payment” over the weekend. These improvements will hopefully fix the website and make it possible for more taxpayers to update their direct deposit information.

If you were previously unable to update your direct deposit information, or if you received an error message from the IRS, the IRS advises to try the website again.
