Clergy Financial Resources is proud to offer Audit Protection Plus for just $125 per year (regularly $199). This essential service protects you from the high costs of tax return corrections, required correspondence, amendments, and both mail-based and direct audits by the IRS or your state.

Why You Need It

Tax audits and correspondence from tax authorities can be time-consuming and expensive. Each year, the IRS or your state may randomly select returns for review. Even if no errors are found, responding to these inquiries can cost you hundreds—or even thousands—of dollars. Representation during an audit typically costs $1,000 or more.

With Audit Protection Plus, if your 2025 return is selected for review, we’ll handle all communication and negotiation with the IRS or state at no additional cost. This includes:

• Tax return corrections
• Required correspondence
• Amendments
• Tax examinations by mail
• Direct audits (prior to the appeals level)

Note: This service does not cover the cost of a professional advisor attending an in-person audit.

What’s Included

If you’re audited or receive a notice, we’ll assist with:

• Reviewing and interpreting IRS or state letters
• Researching applicable audit guidelines
• Gathering and organizing supporting documentation
• Reviewing prior returns that may impact the audit
• Contacting and negotiating with tax authorities

If a return we prepared is audited and you owe additional tax due to our error, we’ll credit your account for any penalties incurred as a result.

Without Audit Protection Plus, audit and correspondence services are billed at $250.00 per hour.

Enrollment Deadline

To ensure full coverage, you must enroll by one of the following dates:

• April 15, 2025 – Standard filing deadline when you file prior to April 15th
• October 15, 2025 – Extended filing deadline when you file during the extension period.
