Jonathan Whitten AFSP
Thank you for choosing Clergy Financial Resources to prepare your tax return. We sincerely appreciate your trust and the opportunity to serve you.
I have been involved with ministry all my life. Raised in a minister’s family, and having served in pastoral ministry for sixteen years, I understand the difficulties and joys ministry brings. I earned a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2014. During my time in full-time pastoral ministry, I discovered I also had giftings related to the financial and tax aspects of the Church and clergy. To this end, I have earned a Master’s in Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2023, and I am currently sitting for the CPA exam.
My wife and I have two boys and we enjoy taking time together for family vacations. We live in the greater-Chattanooga, TN area and love being close to the Smokey Mountains.
I’m a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals and registered with the Internal Revenue Service.
I have also completed The Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) which aims to recognize the efforts of tax return preparers who aspire to a higher level of professionalism. This requires 18 hours of continuing education, including a six-hour federal tax law refresher course with a test.

Schedule your Tax Review
Let’s get started!
Now is the time to schedule your tax review. This tax review step is designed to clarify and review the entire organizer and other tax-related information together. During this review, we’ll be looking back one year for consistency, identifying possible tax-saving opportunities in the current year, and looking forward to one year to determine adjustments for estimated payments or optional withholdings. This step will get your return to the 90% status before it moves to the final review. After the final review, your return will be ready to e-file.
Click the link below to schedule your 2023 tax review. This review is scheduled for a maximum of 1 hour and will vary based on the complexity of your return.
